142nd day project finished

when i started this project "Get to the LZ" was the animation i was most excited for
i was and am a huge alien fan so i found it really fun creating a scene that reflected
on the alien series and telling the tiny story of the military squad which encountered
something horrific. when i began doing this project i had really high hopes that
were above what they should have been, though i was able to reach the standard
i was hoping for during the start i was going to be using different rigs because they
looked realistic which i realized to late were very broken. even though the rigs were broken
i was able to animate the whole scene "its ANARKEY baby" by using rotations on the rigs joints rather than on the controls. this made things difficult at times because if i remember correctly the
rig was keying everything attached to the joints and i had to do a lot of counter animation
to fix it, there were also referencing problems moving it from one computer to another. afterwards the tutors convinced me it wasn't worth all the work just for the ascetically pleasing characters considering this is meant to focus on animation. i replaced the rigs and practically did a 3d animators version of tracing when it came to repeating the movement of the last rig onto the new one.after this was done i practically had 2 of my shots started but the 3rd "whats in the closet" haven't had any work on it. i tried to imagine more of the scene while i worked on setting up the background and stuff while i thought more about it. eventually i got started on putting the animation is steps. the main difference between this animation an the others was that there was a lot of interaction with the characters surroundings and i'm only counting the boy not the monster there was the boy pushing himself up the bed, he grabs the door frame and then he hits the ground to push himself back up. this involved a lot of switching between ik and fk so that when the character was interacting you could see the connection between him and what he was interacting with and that so when he wasn't interacting his arms flowed naturally in a hierarchy shoulder downwards.
this was similure to what was going on in the "its ANARKEY baby" shot but in that shot there was a lot less interaction with the world and a lot more interaction with props which included one being crushed and thrown this meant i had to have 3 different models #1 clean can the character drinks from #2 crushed can that replaces the last can as the character crushes it(both of these are parented to the wrist) #3 the crushed can with no parent that is tossed at the wall to bounce.
"It's ANARKEY baby"was an animation that focused on what its like being an ignorant punk youth and ita kind of a joke against the next generation of punk kids who arnt doing it correctly.

141st day

today i began rendering the Get to the LZ/planet scene

befor i did so i worked on the last few criticisms i gave myself and fixed them up as much as i could before animating lipsink to match with 2 new audio samples i was using for vocals also i began working on the sound side of premier along with audition and made this for when the rendering is finished

i still have a tenticle slither sound and a war cry to add in but im still looking for the correct sound 1st
i estemate ill be finished with this and the bedroom scene tomorow or early friday so i can do all the other work to finish this off

140th day


today i finally put my animatic together for the bedroom scene i know its barly necercary now but it was good working off these just as renders earlyer in the project them self with out animation to time out emotions for the scene.i also added and extra scene that wasnt in the original animatic to make it more similure to the animations current state

today i also worked off afew ticks on my board and my bedroom animation is current rendering as i type and i did a basic lighting and texturing of the scene tomorow ill be working to get good audio in the premear file and getting the planet scene up to rendering standards

to day i worked on all 3 peaces making notes

today i have a killer head ache hurting my eyes but i did alittle work on my second video "its anarchy baby" also i found a better scream for the child in the 3rd video. ill extend "its anarchy baby" to hold the whole line

it is almost 12. 30 and i have some progress to show i have started to RE-animate my ANARKEY scene
like i said yesterday in my segway post i shall be uploading to youtube from now on but this shall exclude work i dont feel is up to standards yet so i dont waste time uploading it to youtube just to be deleted and replaced

ive been trying to show my friends around the animation from the play blast i uploaded on my blog and have decided due to the low quality and restriction to the size of a upload i am going to be uploading to youtube or vimeo and linking it to the blog. tomorrow i am going to start on getting my "anarkey"(intentionally slept wrong) animation re stepped out with the replacement rigs im just going to animate on top of the existing character and possibly make the other character smoke a cigarette and throw it when he gets shocked by the can tose to give him more movement maybe ill even play some tricks and have the guy blow smoke rings for fun

122nd day

this is the animation i have been working on so far
what i have done today
i have tryed afew things 2 peace 2 parts of animation together
i tryed making the marine have an exaggerated trip but didnt feel it was believable
so i tryed making the marine pull out his gun as he balances himself
the part that sucked about this was that it was way to fast so i removed those keys and tryed to make it so the marine takes a step back from his trip afterwards but this also was unsuccessful
so i have decided to concentrate on the trip and keep it as that

today i lost half of my work but restarted what i had done and have mostly compete and will be able to play blast what iv done tomorow. what i am doing is editing the walk and drag of the marines trying to add weight to the 2 carrying and the singular marine being dragged

today i scraped my walk and restarted it to give it better life and flow i am half way through the 2nd characters walk i just have to attach it to the rest of the animation and animate the 3rd charecters being grabbed by the tentacle

i have had to work with some small methods to make 3 charecters fit well together like v snapping wrists to locators parented to models and more also i have speeded up the walk part of the animation to make more room for the rest of the shots in the scene

i think ive missed afew days on my blog because im my last day i saw the docter and was distracted

this is what i have done today i have also done quick renders for my story board and my animatic just because they take seconds to do and i like to imagine how the finishing product will look

issues i had were

after preparing for a scene and being crusified before lunch i have started setting out layout and getiing pictures for story board and animatic




using "leftovers" from other projects i have a fully modeled lit and textured back ground and props which i have put on my marines i have also got a basically rigged tentacle with out any controls 
besides that and the chest plate on the marines not being skinned i am fully ready to animate

106th day

So far I am feeling quite confident about my work I have planned out for everything to work nicely and I have a lot of my own props I can use in the back ground to make things look nice the only thing I am not fully sure I can do alone is the minor rigging I would have to do to attach Armour correctly to my rigs. I do be leave I can set every one of my scenes in a very unique and interesting ways to share different things in each scene to match the theme and also animation that happens with in each one. I think that I will efficiently be able to apply standard lights and background props and other things to add beauty to every shot elaborating on the environment of every scene. I know that my focus should be directly on animation but I have become quite sick of animating with in an empty scene, as I type now I am setting up an ally way scene with props to litter the scene which maybe all the shot needs to look the way I want it to

yesterday i came in early and worked on my proposal pack and story board today i worked on rendering and lighting a test of somthing i put together over the week end i also found out yesterday is that i am able to use the autodesk character generator model rigs
